The Accuquilt Go! gets a workout

The Accuquilt Go and the Rag Quilt die get a workout making this queen size quilt (312 squares total). It was a labor of love for my sister and her beau who were coming for Thanksgiving and I wanted a special quilt in the guest room.

The Quilt Room

Three years ago I decided to purchase a "hobby" quilt machine. For those of you unfamiliar with quilting...it's like buying a Mantis tilling machine, until you realized it's going to take about 40 hours of labor to till your 2 acre plot.

After painfully making a small baby quilt and lap quilt on the "hobby machine", I resolved to saving money and frustration for a Long Arm Quilting machine. (A John Deere tractor with pull behind tilling blade) After a couple of years of research, saving, and some pressure, umm, encouragement from my Smooth Criminal, the purchase of the ABM Innova 22" Long Arm transpired. We lovingly call her "Novi". Novi is happy in her new room along with my anniversary surprise...the Accuquilt GO!

The Studio Complete!

Through much sweat, tears and ENORMOUS amounts of joy the Studio is now fully functioning and beyond my wildest dreams. I keep pinching myself to make sure this is still all real...and sure enough it is.

My best friend and partner has made sure that no detail is forgotten. After many trips to IKEA, Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Ace Hardware and even quilt shops and hobby stores, he doesn't tire or grow weary of making this dream a reality. Constantly keeping me in that creative mind and spirit, I can't thank him enough or be as happy as he has made me. I love you my Smooth Criminal.
